TenCate Protective Fabrics, Innoware, and Criterion Technologies Nominated for Manufacturer of the Year

Flint River Technical College and the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce nominated TenCate Protective Fabrics, Innoware, and Criterion Technologies for the 2009 Small Manufacturer of the Year. 

The Manufacturer of the Year Award was developed by the Technical College System of Georgia (formerly the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (formerly the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism).  Each company is judged on exhibiting a high degree of corporate responsibility, economic impact on Georgia, and workforce excellence.

A luncheon announcing the 2009 Manufacturer of the Year winners was held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Ken Stewart, commissioner of Georgia Department of Economic Development joined Ron Jackson, commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia at the luncheon marking the culmination of Manufacturing Appreciation Week a special occasion. The event was co-hosted by the Technical College System of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Economic Development as an effort to recognize and pay tribute to manufacturing’s role in Georgia’s economy. The manufacturing sector employs more than 400,000 Georgians at nearly 10,000 facilities across the state, contributing more than $100 billion to its economy annually.
