Flint River Technical College inducted 13 students in the Flint River Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society on Tuesday, November 18, 2008.
To be nominated into the honor society, students must have taken at least 20 credit hours before their last enrolled quarter, and maintained a 3.5 grade point average throughout their program courses.
The criteria for nomination include those individuals with high character ideals which include: Good Attitude, Dependability, Leadership, Safety Consciousness, Initiative, Teamwork, Attendance/Punctuality, Pride in Work, and Good Citizenship.
The purpose of this organization shall be: to promote the ideals of honesty service, leadership, career development, and skilled workmanship among technical students in their pursuit of educational and career goals; to develop a great awareness within the American business, industry, and service communities of the talents and abilities of student engaged in technical education; to provide technical students with a greater awareness of the world of work.
The National Technical Honor Society is a nonprofit student organization of outstanding students enrolled in occupational, vocational, or technical programs. Organized in 1894, the first chapter was established at the H.B. Swofford Vocational Center in Gramling, South Carolina. The organization has chapters in 35 states and was founded by Mr. C.
