Flint River Technical College held Graduation on June 5, 2008

Flint River Technical College held its Commencement Exercises for Degree, Diploma, and GED graduates on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Thomaston-Upson Civic Center.

Over 384 graduates were recognized for their achievements with the presentation of an official 2008 Flint River Technical College award. 

The ceremony opened with a welcome and introduction by Mr. Robert Patrick, Chairperson for the Flint River Technical College Board of Directors.  The National Anthem was sang Ms. Traci Snidemiller followed by the invocation given by Mr. Daniel Stevens, a graduate of the Cosmetology program. The Challenge was given by Ms. Donna Thomas, the 2008 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership winner.

Mr. Ronald W. Jackson, Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia, was the 2008 Commencement Speaker. He praised each graduate for their accomplishment and wished them much success in the future.

Mr. Kel Anderson presented the Williams L. Anderson Memorial Award to Mr. Bobby L. Casey of Manchester. The award is presented to Mr. Casey for his outstanding academic and work ethic qualities. 

The program concluded with the conferring of the graduates and the grand evening was concluded with inspirational remarks were given by President Kathy S. Love.
