Flint River Technical College SkillsUSA Club Brings home Gold and Bronze from State Competition

The Flint River Technical College (FRTC) SkillsUSA Club went to the State SkillsUSA Conference and Competition in Milledgeville, Macon and in Dublin on April 17-19, 2008. FRTC had 16 students competing in a 6 contest area. When it was all over, FRTC had placed in 3 competitions, bringing home a Gold medal, and two Bronze medals. The students who placed were: Charisma Cox, 1st Place, and Camilla Powell, 3rd Place in Surgical Technology Advanced. The 3rd place Trophy -Quiz Bowl team consisted of Donna Thomas, John Childree, Michelle Childree, and Heather Craven.  Other students who competed were Ashley Harris and John Baxter in Surgical Technology level one; Linda Shamsiddeen, Shanda Grant, and Casandra Ward in Health Knowledge Bowl; Marcus Ferguson in Welding and Joining Technology; and  Sandra Goggins in Cosmetology.
