The Taylor County Certified Literate Community Program and the Upson READ Certified Literate Community Program have agreed to provide financial support for two important projects that are being implemented by the Flint River Technical College Department of Adult Education.  According to Vice President Len Moore, “The support provided by our local CLCPs is a testimony to the important role that the State’s Certified Literate Community Program can play in assisting local Adult Education programs in times of need.  We are greatly appreciative.”

Upson READ, Georgia’s tenth Certified Literate Community Program, has agreed to fund the tuition for ten Adult Education students to enroll in College 099. The value of this support is approximately $1,700.  This credit class provides students with the opportunity to learn skills needed to be successful college students.  The ten students were chosen based on assessment scores, attendance, and no disciplinary infractions.  An analysis of data from this class will be utilized to support additional transitional and dual enrollment efforts in the State. For more information about these programs, contact Len Moore at 706.646.6127.
