The Flint River Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees hosted their annual Foundation Gala on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Park Lane in Thomaston.
Everything from a Salt Water Fishing trip to Florida, to a weekend at Callaway Gardens, to a Howard Miller Wine & Spirits buffet was auctioned off by the master of ceremonies Kenny Coggins. At $200 per ticket, 130 tickets were sold to benefit the College. Everyone who purchased a ticket was entered into the drawing for $5,000.
The winner of the grand prize was Mr. Billy Brannin of Thomaston. Corporate sponsors for the event were, Connell and Wheeler Attorney at Law, Quad Graphics Bostwick’s Furniture, Bank of Upson, BB&T- Ingram and McDaniel, The Citizens State Bank of Taylor County, Coggins Funeral Home, Colony Bank of Thomaston, George Hightower, UnitedBank, Upson EMC, and West Central Bank.
