The first Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) class has been accepted by Columbus Technical College’s Flint River Technical College-based registered nursing program. The ADN program is a collaboration between Flint River Technical College and Columbus Technical College.  Students enroll at Flint River Technical College to complete the required academic core courses and are competitively admitted to Columbus Technical College’s ADN program each summer quarter.

In the ADN program, students will have the opportunity to learn in classroom, lab and hospital settings that have the most modern equipment and the latest technology.

Competitive admission is determined through a student’s GPA, COMPASS test scores in Reading and Writing, the score from the Pre-NLN or the ACE I exams, and an interview.

The deadline for submission of the letter of intent is March 1st of each year with completion of testing, receipt for background check application, and verification of work experience if applying for the LPN-ADN Bridge Program. Prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the spring quarter following the March 1st deadline.

Georgia residents enrolling in programs that are eligible for the HOPE Grant or HOPE Scholarship will receive state funds that pay tuition, registration and activity fees, and a book allowance of $50 or $100.

The next ADN class will begin summer quarter of 2008.  Interested individuals should enroll at Flint River Technical College now in order to complete the prerequisite core courses.  For additional information, contact Celeste Dunnington, Instructor in the Associate Degree Nursing program at 706-646-6212 or cdunnington@columbustech.edu or cdunnington@flintrivertech.edu
