Suzette Pennamon Chosen as Flint River Technical College 2007 GOAL Winner

Suzette Pennamon, a Medical Assisting student at Flint River Technical College, was named the 2007 winner of the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) award.  The award was presented at the Thomaston-Upson Rotary Club GOAL Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Flint River Technical College Community Development Center.  The announcement was made by Mr. Willie Kendall, President of the Thomaston-Upson Rotary Club.  The other GOAL finalists were Clair Haney, Stephen Jenkins, and Deborah Legg, all of Thomaston. 

Suzette Pennamon will receive a three day trip to Atlanta in May.  She will compete against students from 34 other technical colleges in Georgia for the title of State GOAL Winner, the GOAL medallion, and the grand prize of a new automobile.

The Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education sponsors the GOAL program state wide.  At the local level, the program is sponsored by the Bank of Upson, Colony Bank, United Bank, West Central Bank, Thomaston-Upson Rotary Club, Upson EMC, Griffin Area Personnel Association, Flint River Technical College National Technical Honor Society, Phi Beta Lambda, Student Leadership Council and Skills USA.
