Flint River Technical College Commercial Truck Driving Program Graduates 15 Students in March

15 students graduated from Flint River Technical College Commercial Truck Driving program March 2007. Denia Owens and Barry Peugh completed the new Passenger program for school buses. Denia and Barry are presently working for Upson and Lamar County respectively.

Finishing in first and second place in achieving the highest grade point averages for their class were Tommy Taylor and Derick Goodman.

The Commercial Truck Driving program is a 7-week course designed to give students the ability to earn their Commercial Truck Driver’s License, and obtain a salary of $30,000 to $50,000 in the first year on the job. The Commercial Truck Driving program is offered in Thomaston, Butler, Talbotton, and outside of Manchester. 99% of the graduating students from the program have received tuition assistance through the HOPE Grant.
