Ms. Deanne Allen, Cosmetology Instructor is a native of Thomaston and a graduate of Upson High School in Thomaston. After graduation, she attended Gordon College in Barnesville, and later received her Cosmetology diploma from Flint River Technical College. She received her license as a Master Cosmetologist in 2001. Prior to taking the instructor position at Flint River Technical College, she worked at Kutz by Us Hair & Tanning Salon. Ms. Allen has two children, Lex and Haley. |

Mr. Gordon Carns, Computer Information Systems Instructor, is a resident of Griffin, Georgia. He received an Associate in Science in Mathematics degree from Gordon College and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems degree from Mercer University. Prior to joining Flint River Technical College, Gordon worked with Continental/General Tire as Network Administrator/System Analyst. He enjoys trivia, puzzles, and brainteasers. In addition to keeping his brain in shape, he likes weightlifting and hopes to compete in the near future. He enjoys comedy, music, movies, karaoke, and dancing. He is the proud parent of Amber, Hannah, and Benjamin. He also is “granddaddy” of Austin. |
Ms. Jane Crawford, is a native of Thomaston, is the Learning Support Instructor at Flint River Technical College. She has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education degree from Mercer University. Ms Crawford has taught Special Education for several years and has volunteered for several community organizations. She enjoys reading, shopping, and watching movies. Ms. Crawford’s pride and joy is her Dachshund named “Sophie”. |

Ms. Melissa Gordon, Adult Education Instructor is a native of Upson County. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Neurobiology from Georgia College & State University. She has been married to Matt Gordon, a teacher and coach at Crawford County High School for 9 years. They have 2 sons: Calen and Camden. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. |
Mr. Donald M. Greathouse, a native of Thomaston, is the Criminal Justice Technology instructor.Mr. Greathouse received his Master in Public Administration degree from Columbus State University in 1996, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice degree from Mercer University in 1982, and an Associate in Arts in Criminal Justice degree from Gordon Junior College in 1981. Before coming to the College, he spent over 32 years working with the Upson County Sheriff’s Department, the Georgia State Patrol, and the Georgia Department of Corrections. Don and his wife, Julie, have been married for over 22 years and have three children. In his spare time, Mr. Greathouse enjoys gardening, fishing, and being outdoors. |

Mr. Tony Hardy, Commercial Truck Driving Instructor, is a native of Marietta, Georgia. Before coming to Flint River Technical College, he was a business owner for over 20 years in Douglas, Georgia. Mr. Hardy is a 1990 graduate of Ridge Vocational Technical College in Winter Haven, Florida. He has over seven years of over-the-road truck driving experience. In 1999, Mr. Hardy initiated the first Commercial Truck Driving Program at Flint River Technical College. He enjoys riding motorcycles, doing yard work, and working in his wood shop. Mr. Hardy has 3 children, Anthony Jr., Robert Dean, and Iric Dawn. |
Mr. Stephans Hobbs, a resident of Thomaston, has accepted the position of Barbering Instructor of Flint River Technical College. He is a 1997 graduate of Central Georgia Technical College’s Barbering program and has been the owner/operator of Cut-N-Edge Barber and Beauty Salon for 11 years. Stephans says he enjoys teaching Barbering to his students. He also enjoys his hobbies of fashion/talent shows and live theatre or spending time with his family. |

Ms. Rhonda Jenkins, Adult Literacy Instructor, is a native of Butler.Ms. Jenkins has a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education degree from Mercer University. She has been working with Adult Education for the past eight years. Ms. Jenkins has two children. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Liz Hawkins Jester, English Instructor, is a native of Clayton County, Mrs. Jester graduated from Georgia State University in May of 2008 with a M.A. in Literary Studies. She previously received a B. A. in English and Psychology from Charleston Southern University in South Carolina in 2002. Her experience includes four years of adjunct instructing of English and Psychology at Griffin Technical College and teaching English at Clayton County High School. A 2008 June bride, Mrs. Jester and husband, Brad, now reside in Griffin, Georgia. Liz’s hobbies include reading, playing the marimba, watching movies, and exercising. |

Mr. Gary Larson, Coordinator/Instructor Early Childhood Care and Education programs and Program Administrator for Child Care Resource and Referral, is a native of Barrington, New Jersey. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree from St. John’s University, a Master’s degree in Theology from Catholic University of America, and a Master of Education in Professional Development degree from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Larson has over 35 years of experience in Early Childhood leadership roles. He and his wife, Ann, have three children. In his spare time, Mr. Larson enjoys singing, gardening, and reading. |

Practical Nursing Instructor, is a native of Lamar County. Ms. Penn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grade Education and Nursing, and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. Ms. Mack enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. |

Mr. Tony Martin, a native of Griffin, is the instructor in the Air Conditioning Technology program. Tony received his Air Conditioning Technology degree from Griffin Technical College and his A.A. degree in Technology from Gordon College in 2001. He is currently attending Clayton State College where he is pursuing a degree in Technology Management. Tony holds an unrestricted State license in Conditioned Air Contracting. Prior to coming to Flint River Technical College, he owned and operated a heating and air conditioning business for 22 years. He is married to Karen Martin who works for the Department of Community Health. He enjoys camping, fishing and collecting antique clocks. |
Mr. Allen McChargue, Automotive Technology Instructor is a native of Thomaston. Allen is a certified Automobile Service Excellence Master Technician with 15 years of General Motors Service Department Training. He owned his own business for 13 years of his 29-year automotive professional career. Allen enjoys playing the guitar and reading about old auto restoration. |

Mrs. Kelly McLaughlin, Practical Nursing Instructor, has been a resident of Upson County since 1990. She graduated from Gordon College in 1994 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She worked at Upson Regional Medical Center for 8 years and has experience in home health and long-term care. Kelly and Nathan, her husband of ten years, have a combined family of four sons. Ms. McLaughlin enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and fishing. |
Mrs. Piper Mohl, RN, is an instructor for the LPN program. Mrs. Mohl received her B.A. degree from Georgia Southwestern University in Americus and her RN from Darton College in Albany. She has served as an instructor at Albany Technical College and Albany High School. Having worked 14 years as an RN in Albany, Mrs. Mohl now makes her home in Griffin with her husband and 3 children where she spends most of her waking moments cooking, thinking about cooking, or reading about cooking. |

Mr. Blake Murphy, Electronics Instructor, is a native of Columbus. He worked ten years with Panasonic and two years as a high school Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics instructor. Blake received his B.B.A. degree in General Business with a minor in Mathematics from Columbus State in 1991 and a B.S.E.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University in 1992. Married with 3 sons and 3 grandchildren, Blake enjoys backpacking, digiscoping, birding, traveling by car, and working with computers. |
Mr. Greg O’Neal, the Psychology Instructor in the Arts and Sciences program. Mr. O'Neal holds a B.S. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia. He has also completed 40-quarter hours of additional graduate work in Counseling Psychology at Columbus State University. A native of Upson County, Mr. O’Neal has been on the faculty of Flint River Technical College as the Psychology Instructor since July of 2002. Greg is a former student of Flint River Technical College where he studied Computer Information Systems. Mr. O’Neal has five children and three grandchildren. |

Mr. Bill Parsons, Accounting Instructor, is a native of North Carolina. Mr. Parsons received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree and a Master of Arts in Economics and Business degree from Appalachian State University. His experience includes teaching at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta and holding various corporate positions with Hanes, Ingersoll-Rand, and Print Pack, Inc. Mr. Parsons enjoys spending his free time hiking, bicycling, and reading. |
Mr. Chris Patterson, a native of Riverdale, is the Instructor for the Welding and Joining Technology program. He is a graduate of Griffin Technical College and has over 12 years of welding experience. Mr. Patterson has been an instructor at Flint River Technical College for the past seven years. He is married to the former Ms. Sandra McDonald, and his hobbies include riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends. |

Ms. Teresa Rice, a resident of Meansville, Georgia, has accepted a position as a Practical Nursing Instructor at Flint River Technical College. Ms. Rice has thirty two years of nursing experience including medical surgical, home health, community health, nursing home care, and administration. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia in 1976. |
Ms. Tammy Stinchcomb, Medical Assisting Instructor, is a native of Thomaston.She is a 1994 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) graduate of Flint River Technical College.Ms. Stinchcomb and her husband, John, have four children.She enjoys gardening, fishing, and swimming.

Ms. Jeannie Westerfield, a native Thomaston, is the Math Instructor and Coordinator of the Student Learning Center. Jeannie received a B.S. in Secondary Math from Valdosta State University, a M.Ed. in Secondary Math from Georgia State University, and a M.Ed. in Special Education from Georgia College. She has over 37 years of teaching experience in the public school system and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Jeannie has four children and three grandchildren spread out from Atlanta to Alabama. Her spare time is spent keeping her mind active with solving puzzles, listening to books on CD, and reading mystery novels. She also likes to explore different topics with computers and informational materials to quench her desire to continue learning new things. |
Mr. James Wilson, Mathematics Instructor, is a native of Swainsboro. He holds a Specialist Degree in Mathematics Education from the State University of West Georgia. He brings over 20 years experience in mathematics to the College. James and his wife, Nancy, have two children and reside in Griffin. James is a nationally rated chess player and also plays poker as a hobby. |

Ms. Kim Yevak, Business Administrative Technology Instructor, is a native of Barnesville. Ms. Yevak earned her Master of Education and a Bachelor in Business Education from the University of West Georgia. Before coming to Flint River Technical College, she taught high school for 13 years. Her husband, Bob Yevak is a high school football coach and they have two daughters, Ashley and Brinkley. Ms. Yevak enjoys shopping, decorating, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. |
