GED Testing
If you need to improve your skills in reading, mathematics, or communication in written and spoken English, and/or obtain your GED (General Educational Development), you should enroll in Adult Education classes. Many of the programs at Flint River Technical College require a high school diploma or GED as a condition of admission.
Business and industry, vocational and technical schools, colleges and universities recognize the GED test as an equivalent to the high school diploma. More and more jobs require the GED certificate if you do not have a high school diploma. We can help you obtain this certificate. This is what you should do:
Morning classes are held Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00
p.m.
Afternoon classes are held Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30
p.m.
Evening classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00
p.m.
On-line GED preparation classes are also available (call for more details).
There are no charges for enrolling in adult education classes. Flint River Technical College does require students to wear picture ID’s while on campus and the first ID is free. Replacement ID cost is $5.
Your instructor will provide the assistance you need and advise you when you are ready to take the GED test.
A Practice GED test is also available. Non-registered Adult Education students may register for the Practice GED test in the Adult Education office and prepay a non-refundable fee of $10. Registered Adult Education students will not be charged for the Practice GED test-see your instructor for details. Practice GED tests are available once a quarter. You must pick up your Practice GED results in the Adult Education office. No results will be given out over the phone or mailed.
